first impressions

VISUAL — An average sized young woman who is noticeably light on her feet. Her hair is long, falling to the middle of her back and very bright red in color. It does, in fact, seem to shimmer even in the softest of light. Her eyes are brown in color normally but sometimes they do look like solar eclipses. It's pretty fucking cool.

FASHION — Constantly wearing boho chic long white gowns, accented with random splashes of red and typically worn with gold or red/orange jewelry.

DEMEANOR — Sunny! Ammy is a very excitable and always in a good mood. Her powers usually show this but surrounding her in a soft glow, causing her hair to shimmer and prisms of color to float around her. It's all very fancy.

AURAL — Notably very British for a Japanese goddess. She has a very clipped rhythm to her words, somewhat posh but very light and song-like otherwise.

OLFACTORY — She smells like sunshine, rainbows and happiness.

MENTAL INFORMATION —

MAGICAL INFORMATION — Phenomenal cosmic powers, itty bitty living space which is to say she has a lot of power under her belt despite her size. If your character is the sort that gets pings on divine natures then she will likely be setting those alarms off crazy good.

ic

PHYSICAL AFFECTION — Go for it. She is very touchy-feely herself, so casual hugs and hand holding is not out of the question.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE — Ammy will always avoid a fight if possible. That said, she can fight (though not greatly) and is terribly strong because of her status as a goddess. She's still a teenager at heart though, and despite her super sun powers there is a lot of ways to beat her down.

RELATIONSHIPS — Always a possibility! Ammy is a loving person and probably wishes to be loved by someone in because of the whole "dying on her 19th birthday" deal. She's not against casual flings and encounters either.

MEDICAL INFORMATION — Nothing of note! She's in perfectly fine health.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS — Whatever you do, do not mention her father in any sort of negative light or us his memory against her.

ooc

PLAYER — Anya

CONTACT — [plurk.com profile] kaldwin or through PM to this account.

BACKTAGGING — Always!

THREADHOPPING — As long as others involved in the thread are cool with it, it's no problem to me.

FOURTHWALLING — No, thank you!

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS — Ammy is not very self-aware and, because of this, can come off as insensitive and shallow at times. She is also stupidly stubborn in her ways. Because of this, she'll sometimes speak on subjects and come off as having no idea that it might hurt someone's feeling. Feel free to call her out on it.

❚❚ powers

song + power = ???

WELCOME TO YET ANOTHER EDITION OF THIS BANDWAGON. Big thanks to [personal profile] pummelgranite for typing this up and putting this crazy mess of information on these ridiculous powers into some sense.

So what the hell is going on? The basic setup of WicDiv is this every 90 years, twelve Gods incarnate into RADICAL HUMAN TEENS so that they can spend two years living among mortals and doing massive quantities of blow so that they can pass on divine inspiration. This generation all became pop stars, because of course they did! So when they "perform," they sing a song that may induce a very serious religious experience.

a tragic teen god's power & you

Will it affect my character?

LONG ANSWER: how or why someone can commune with a particular god or not is not explicitly spelled out, but it seems to be influenced in part by one's innate capacity for faith, and a personal resonance with the god's message. It's kinda rare that a particular person would be able to commune with every god, and it's also kinda rare that a particular person wouldn't be affected any of them.

SHORT ANSWER: basically if you want them to go for it and if you don't, no worries.

the word of god

So what's it do?

The song will transfer a strong sense of her divinity- which is to say "what it is that people need from them, spiritually" Wow that is vague! But for example: Lucifer inspires people to the glory of rebellion, Persephone, on the other hand, seems to spread a message of despair and fury while Inanna encourages people be in touch with their true desires.

Amaterasu's message, as a god, seems to revolve around JUST HOW GREAT EVERYTHING IS. Her performances create an insane amount of positive energy within her audience. You're the best, she's the best and this is the best thing you have ever seen because her performances are described as being all climax. Every second is the best second of your life. There is no doubt that it is like watching the clouds part and everything is suddenly so very, very clear. No fears or worries. You feel protected, warm and inspired. It pushes you go beyond yourself, your limits and past whatever barrier you might have put up for yourself.

Basically everything is bright and it is the good feeling power hour.

However! Not just everyone will perceive all that. Your character will probably fall somewhere on this spectrum:

ZERO EFFECT; very rare: for characters with especially low faith stats and are predisposed to not understand her.

They will hear a girl with an impressively powerful and melodic voice just singing gibberish, but everyone around her is flipping out for no reason? Why????

MIDDLING EFFECT; most common: maybe your character has a lowish level of faith, maybe they are already pretty happy, maybe they're already the bright damn sunspot in the universe, maybe you the player choose this level because you feel like it for a reason not specified above

THEY WILL HEAR A FUCKING AWESOME INDIE ROCK SONG. It's melodic, clear but absolutely powerful despite coming from a tiny hippy girl. Even if they can't understand it then they'll still be able to feel the soul of her words and understand the inspired feelings behind her gospel. It's hypnotic and you're probably going to pass out.

FULL EFFECT; slightly uncommon: for characters prone to understanding divinity, and to characters with personal experiences in loss, confusion in life or just wanting to be more than what you are

They will hear an incredibly powerful, beautiful, but also hopeful song. If they think about it, they can tell that the lyrics are in tongues, but it doesn't matter; they can still understand it all perfectly.

SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE:
OVERWHELMING GOOD FEELINGS
Aspiring to be more!!
Clarity, peace, hope
Pushing your boundaries
Being unafraid to just try
Feeling protected, warm
THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST
Hyperventaling
Passing right the fuck out
Orgasms, no, really

For those who can perceive the full effect, many of them enjoy the experience, like a sort of intense catharsis, but some certainly do not!

So much of this is genuinely open to interpretation, I want folks to be able to let their characters respond to it in ways fun to them! If you'd like to bounce around special circumstances and ideas or otherwise have questions, feel free to hit up this post with them.
